The New Sloorp Store

Hi, fellas!

It's been a while since my last post! *busy*
A few days ago, I discovered I could use Paypal Buy Buttons for my store instead of paying Bigcartel for having me an online shop. I knew that I had to sit and design the whole store from scratch, and a lot of HTML and CSS would be in the mix, but I didn't hesitate.

So, the New Sloorp Store will not be located on sloorp.bigcartel.com anymore, it's gonna be a part of the official SloorpWorld.com website! I'm launching the new Sloorp Store in a few days. Until then, you can still make your purchases from sloorp.bigcartel.com!

While I am superbusy with school (however i still surf on the net), these little guys up there arrived yesterday, so I decided to write here about them.

It feels weird because it looks so proffessional, I love them! The quality, which is difficult to understand from the photos, is stunning. It just feels great on your hand! I ordered two different designs: A Lion Card and A Cyclop-DragonSnail Card!

Hello, guys!

These days I'm so busy and i don't have time for self-commissioned artwork, only for commissioned stuff and jobs I must complete. There is no free time.

However, my creativity is growing inside me and has to come out in some way. I had this idea, to paint my Sloorp Logo on the wall of my room! Here's the whole process in steps:

1. Sketch the logo on the wall: I sketched it on the wall by just looking at it and copying it from the paper.

2. Paint the stroke around the letters: I used acrylics for the coloring.

3. Paint the first level of green.

4. Paint the second level of green.

READY!

Apps Are Evil.

A few days ago, I got my first iPhone. An iPhone 4. Soo excited! Soon I found out that these iPhone Apps are Evil! They talk to me every day, every night: "BUY ME! BUY ME!" In just 2 Days I spend 25$ on them... They're so cheap you don't realize how much you spend. Then, i decided to put a monthly limit and write down the ones i want! Muhahaha...

Are you an app shopaholic? I am!

My Workspace

This is where i work!

I love my desk! I recently put these frames with my artwork and i want to fill the whole wall with more! My Macbook Pro is my main and only tool! I would like an iMac in the future, but for now i am great, and its 15" screen  is very comfortable for me.

The tree with my logo on its pot is a small detail that makes everything look so vibrant and fresh!

...And finally, my mysterious, round box. Nobody opens it, no one knows what's in there... :P

The Print Station!

This is where the Prints available of my shop are printed. My gray, weird desk makes everything so easy and comfortable. Down there you can see hundreds of folders, ready to be shipped, and below some boxes with different types of paper. See? Everything has its position.


Also, the desk has two wheels on the front, so i can easily move my printer somewhere else in the room. :D

Sleepless

Working at nights, Sleeping at days! This goes for a long time. And it's a chain. Once started it can't stop.

It's hard for me to sleep at night, so i usually work on my computer. I think i work better at night. It's quiet, i concentrate on what i'm doing and it's not so hot. Sometimes i read my book or talk with friends. Well, i have to find a way to stop it because lessons are ahead and this can't go any further.

My new Wallet

I got this funny wallet today. The outside is covered with dollars. How ironic. Most of the times, the only money that wallet will store are the ones on that funny pattern! :P Just kidding!

But, this leather white wallet gave me a great idea. I could sell Handrawn Wallets on my Store. Would you like to have a wallet with Sloorp Doodles on it? I have already started to plan this! Tell me what you think!

I stumbled upon her artwork on deviantART.com and i was immidiately in love with it. I'm talking about Anneka Tran, an illustrator based in UK.

What i admire in all her works, is her personal style. It's there in all of the pieces, as soon as you see one of them you can say she made this! And this style is so cute, so simple but so satisfying at the same time.

Goodbye Summer

Summer is over. No more icecream...

Goodbye Free Time. This is one of the most important years for me. I have to give all my attention to my lessons and what bugs me is that i won't have any time for my art. I guess i could spare a few minutes writing a blog post but when i "get back to school" i'm sure my inspiration will be totally blocked.

I'm afraid that one year without drawing might affect me. Make me leave it behind forever. Do you think you can forget drawing? Lose your inspiration forever?

In the classroom

I had this idea, maybe other blogs do it to. I decided to draw if not every of my day, some of my days and telling about them to you. Well, today nothing terrible happened but i just wanted to try this out. Let's go.

I've spent my morning in a classroom. 4 Hours of maths. 4 Whole HOURS. Having slept only 5 hours last night, no breakfast or coffee. I almost slept on the desk. I felt like i was in slow motion, cause the goddamn time wouldn't pass. Fortunately, next class is on Monday. Free Weekend! :D

Fresh Bookmarks

I have just got these out of the oven! ...er... i mean printer!

The idea pimped in my head when i went to my friend's house. I found her on a table full of coloured papers, color pencils and siccors everywhere! She was making homemade bookmarks. I decided to sit with her and make my own by cutting and sticking coloured pieces of carton paper. It was a blue one with a sun coming out of a green valley. Then i thought, i can do this digitally!

Opening Post

So i opened a blog! Welcome, people!

I wanted a place more informal, a place to get closer with people who love the same things i love. Characters, art, colors, movies. Anything creative! This is where i will make quick updates about my artwork, announce some offers on my store or giveaways.

Since i opened my store (sloorp.bigcartel.com), i've been busy printing, cutting, drawing, sketching and then cleaning my mess. All kinds of stuff that make my hands hurt. But i'll be fine. I'm super excited with the new Glossy Prints and escpecially with the Bookmarks. These designs turned out so fun and cute!

I'm going to feature artists i enjoy, post about any project i find interesting on the web and share with you inspiring portfolios from artists all around the world.

Here go. First Post is already written.
